Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter from Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father worked as a teacher and her mom was a stay-at-home mom. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick began dancing and singing from a young age, and frequently performed show-like puppets in front of children in her area. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she was crowned her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6. This led to a call from talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired if she'd like to be in show business. McCormick was hired to star in her first major part in 1964, in an tv commercial featuring Mattels latest doll Baby Pattaburp. She subsequently starred in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial and was then cast for The Wind It Up And It's Breaks by The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won a 1969 audition from more than 1200 children to become the oldest of the three twins in the TV show The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed with Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons and The Brady Bunch was an enormous successful one. McCormick said in her book from 2008 Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice she almost ended her relationship in the fifth season of the show with Barry Williams, her co-star and on-screen brother. He was 19 years old. She was 16. The woman said it might have been possible, but we didn't have the proper moment to make the decision.
